Alongside the classics, we hunt out unusual varieties you will not find in the supermarket. Stock changes every week, so pop in often or call to check what has just arrived.
Silvery, dragon-scale leaves next to the velvet green arrows of 'Frydek'. Keep the compost moist, give bright light in winter and semi-shade in summer, and mist the leaves often.
A new and unusual calathea splashed with lime and cream. Keep it moist, out of direct sun, and mist the leaves frequently.
Mini monstera with split leaves that climbs fast. Bright light out of direct sun, and water thoroughly in summer, less in winter.
Calathea makoyana, with leaves that look hand painted. Its leaves fold up at night, which is why calatheas are called prayer plants.
Long green leaves with deep burgundy undersides that glow when the light shines through. Loves a humid bathroom.
An ornamental pineapple plant alongside Vriesea and Guzmania in fiery reds, pinks and yellows. Water into the central cup.

Recycled pots made from maritime waste, in deep ocean blues and greens.
Ribbed and reactive glazes, plus embossed ginkgo-leaf designs.
Citrus, tropical leaf, blue floral and pastel pots to make you smile.
Not sure what size you need? Bring your plant along and we will help you find the perfect fit. We can also put a plant and pot together as a ready-made gift.
Houseplant care & feed
Right next to the plants you will find the feeds, composts and pest control to keep them healthy, so you can pick up everything in one trip.
Houseplant care basics
Most houseplants like bright, indirect light. Keep them out of hot midday sun on south-facing windowsills, and move them closer to the window in winter.
Overwatering kills more houseplants than anything else. Check the compost with your finger and water when the top few centimetres are dry. Water less in winter.
Feed every 2 to 4 weeks from spring to early autumn with a houseplant feed. Most plants rest in winter, so stop or feed much less.
Calatheas, ferns and orchids love humidity. Mist the leaves, group plants together or stand them on a tray of wet pebbles, away from radiators.

Snake plants, ZZ plants, spider plants, devil's ivy (pothos), peace lilies, aloe vera, Chinese evergreens, rubber plants, heartleaf philodendrons and dragon trees are all easy to look after. They cope with typical UK homes and forgive the odd missed watering.
Snake plants, ZZ plants, devil's ivy, Chinese evergreens and peace lilies all cope well in lower light, such as a hallway or a north-facing room. No plant grows in total darkness, so choose a spot with some natural daylight.
Spider plants, calatheas (prayer plants), Boston ferns, orchids and bromeliads are generally considered safe for cats and dogs. Peace lilies, snake plants, aloe vera, pothos, philodendrons and ZZ plants can upset pets if chewed, so keep those out of reach. Ask our team for pet-friendly ideas.
It depends on the plant, the season and your home, so check the compost rather than following a fixed timetable. Most houseplants need watering when the top few centimetres of compost feel dry, and much less often in winter. Every display in our store has a care card with watering advice.
